Finding feeds ... I tell you guys, don't loose track of what you are looking for otherwise this exercise can be tricky...
I started to explore the different Feeds Search Tools.... Feedster, Topix, Google, Technorati (or whatever the name is, sorry)....
Well, this task ending up being fascinating but time consuming too. I must confess I got easily distracted and continuosly asking myself ... What was I looking for? I jumped from a blog about music... then I was reading about astronomy... then about digital retouching... later on posting a comment on a science debate ... oh yes there so much information out there to dig out...
Anyway, finally I ended up getting a better idea about Feeds, my view about these tools...
Probably Google and Feedster are the easiest ones, a simple clean layout, bring back the results you are after. Love how Feedster plainly facilitate the search by Blog/News/Podcast.
Topix is more complex, with all these news on your face that get you distracted. Although I liked how it highlights your keyword and the "interactive graphic" to narrow down your date search.
Technorati... well, be ready to spend a while in front of the screen, it's like a TV, bombarding you with news... I didn't find it very effective to get what I wanted.. for example, I searched "beauty tips" and brought back million of blogs not quite of my interest... like "Tips on cleaning leather furniture" or "overcoming impotence" not exactly what I was after :p.
Sometimes it wasn't easy to work around the way to subscribe to some sites, some others don't even seem to provide any feed at all.. Am I missing something? why they show up in Google Blogs then?
Of course I need to spend more time exploring these tools...
That's all for now folks...
